Cate Blanchett Thinks Plastic Surgery is About "Self Obsession and Fear"

38 year old Cate Blanchett is arguably one of the most gorgeous women on the planet. Her cheekbones are to die for and her eyes have the ability to pierce through your soul. But what makes her truely beautiful is the honesty and integrity she has managed to uphold throughout her dignified career. In a profession obsessed with maintaining a youthful appearance and staying relevant in the public eye at any cost, Cate has said on several occassions that unlike mot of her peers, she will never succumb to plastic surgery in an effort to turn back time. In fact, she thinks wrinkles are "sexy". The aussies says, "For me, I think what will be sexy in 50 years time will be wrinkles. Look at a man or a woman in their 50s and all I see when they have brushed their years away with surgery is self-obsession and fear. That's not particularly attractive." Now, some people have pointed out that Cate does use very expensive facial cream that boasts it's ability to keep skin youthful and wrinkle free. However, in my opinion there is a huge difference between gently fighting off the aging process and attacking it with surgical needles, and hacking your face to bits. Most of the time people who get plastic surgery look unrecognizable and rarely maintain their original features. That being said, beauty has become so distorted that I hate to see what the standard for beautiful is in another 30 years. A part of me thinks it can't get any worse-that people at a certain point have to stop and say "This is absurd! Perfection can never be obtained!" and things will go back to trying to be the best version of ourelves we can be, but most of me thinks people will just continue being morons.
