Verdict Rendered in Chris Brown Assault Case

Chris Brown answered to charges today involving the woman beating he laid down on exgirlfriend Rihanna on February 8th. Sources say Rihanna did show up for the trial, but did not enter the actual courtroom. The singer and his family members looked on solomnly as the judge handed down his verdict. Here's a basic breakdown of what the woman beater got:
-180 days in a labor diversion program in his home state of Virginia
-6 months community service
-5 years supervised probation for felony assault for which he plead guilty. During that time he will have to check in with the courts every 3 months
-Must stay at least 50 yards away from Rihanna unless they are attending the same event in which case he must stay 10 yards away. This order is good for 5 years.
The judge said she wanted to make sure that Chris Brown "was treated as any other person who comes through this court." If Brown decides to violate the terms of his probation, he could face up to 4 years in the slammer. And now since he is a convicted felon, he will not be able to vote or purchase a gun. Both of which sound like a damn good idea to me. Personally though I was hoping he'd get jail time. A couple of hours in the state pen would do his pretty boy ass a world of good. They do not like woman beaters in prison, and I'm sure it would only take him moments to realize that he's not the big bad ass he thinks he is.
