Megan Wants a Millionaire Contestant Charged With Murder

Ryan Jenkins, a contestant on the reality show "Megan Wants a Millioniare" has officially been charged with the murder of his wife Jasmine Fiore. When news of the former model's death hit the internet, police were merely calling Jenkins a "person of interrest". However the evidence has been piling in and overwhelmingly points to Jenkins as the murderer. Here is a break down of the new developments thus far:
- Jenkins remains on the run from the law. Police originally thought he may have fled to Canada in either his own or Fiore's Mercedes. Now however they are saying that he drove 1,000 miles to Washington State and took a boat to a peninsula on the border, where he walked into Canadian territory. A Canadian police official said that ground, air and dog units are involved in the search for him.
-A car and empty boat trailer belonging to Mr Jenkins were found at a marina in the remote northwest Washington town of Blaine. If Mr Jenkins is arrested in Canada, California can request that he be extradited to the US, but only with reassurances from authorities that he would not face the death penalty.
-Police in Orange County, CA are working with the Canadian mounties in bringing Jenkins to justice. They insist that anyone harboring the reality show contestant will be charged with aiding and abetting.
-Police are also saying that Fiore's teeth and fingers were removed prior to dumping her body in a trash bin at Buena Park. I'm assuming this was to remove any identifying factors like dental records or fingerprints.
-Jenkins is said to be armed and dangerous
-Although not in captivity, his bail has already been set for $10 Million dollars
-There is a demand that Jenkins provide DNA samples and thumb and palm prints.
-Jenkins has been charged with the following: Count 1: On or about August 14, 2009, in violation of Section 187(a) of the Penal Code (MURDER), a FELONY, RYAN ALEXANDER JENKINS did unlawfully and with malice aforethought kill JASMINE FIORE, a human being."
-51 Minds, the company behind "MWAM" has released this statement regarding their selection process for the show: "51Minds was not aware of Ryan Jenkins' record when it cast him on "Megan Wants a Millionaire." Obviously, if the company had been given a full picture of his background, he would never have been allowed on the show.
The company did have in place what it thought was a thorough vetting process that involved complete background checks by an outside company for all contestants on its shows. Clearly, the process did not work properly in this case. "
-Fiore's exboyfriend has released this statement: “This message goes out to the family, his mother and father and to the friends that are helping him try to leave this country. Ryan Jenkins is an animal, what he has done to Jasmine is unspeakable and it’s just not right and I’d appreciate your help.”
