Brittany Murphy Has Died

Brittany Murphy has passed away today at the age of 32. A 911 call was made at 8:00 AM from a home in Los Angeles that is listed as belonging to her husband, Simon Monjack, the Los Angeles City Fire Department tells TMZ. It is reported that she was in full cardiac arrest when paramedics were called to the home she shared with Monjack. Despite the paramedics efforts Murphy could not be revived and she was pronounced dead on arrival at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. Sources are saying that the "8 Mile" actress had a heart attack in her sleep. However some are speculating that this could be a result of anorexia or substance abuse, something that would make sense considering Murphy's bazaar behavior and appearance over the last year.
As you may recall, her 40 year old husband was rushed to the hospital back in late November after suffering severe health issues on a flight to LAX. Monjack was incoherent when EMTs boarded the plane after it arrived from Puerto Rico on November 28 -- Murphy thought it was due to an asthma attack, but EMTs thought it could be more serious.
Story developing...
Update via TMZ: Sources tell TMZ Brittany Murphy's mom discovered her unconscious in the shower. We're told when paramedics arrived, they quickly determined Murphy was in full cardiac arrest and immediately administered CPR. They continued CPR in route to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center -- several miles away -- and Murphy was unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The LA County Coroner's is picking up Murphy's body from Cedars later today and will launch an investigation.
Murphy's rep issued the following statement: "In this time of sadness, the family thanks you for your love and support. It is their wish that you respect their privacy."

So sad...So unbelievable.
