It's been a few days since I've seen new pics of my girl Scarlett Johansson but I'll tell you one thing: the woman never disappoints. After making her official Broadway debut in Arthur Miller's "A View from the Bridge" yesterday, ScarJo slipped into a stunning Dolce and Gabbana dress and some Van Cleef & Arpels jewelery for the afterparty. Although the ensemble as a whole might be a tad too mature for a young woman like Scarlett, it was probably a wise choice considering she's trying her hand at a new venture. And, if the early reviews are any indication, Scarlett just might have found a new calling. Everyone from the NY Times to USA are raving about her run on the stage calling her performance "what could be this season's most inspired piece of movie-star casting" and saying that "Johansson's performance is a revelation".
As for Variety, they have called Johansson's performance "remarkably assured" in toeing the line between her character's girlish sensuality and emerging independence with "touching dignity" and remarked that Johansson performed the role with "seeming effortlessness." As if this is new information to her beloved fans! If there is one actress I feel is synonymous with dignified and effortless, it's definitely Scarlett. And if this is how amazing she is on the first night, I can't wait to see how she blossoms and evolves throughout the next few weeks!
