Who Should Be Slacker Chic of the Month?

Olivia in Munnderland

When it comes to Hollywood hotties, Olivia Munn is one chick whose star is steadily on the rise. Thanks to her run on G4's "Attack of the Show", this gorgeous gal has been a popular piece among Trekkies and nerds, but lately her status has gone from indie girl next door to full fledged femme fetale. Not only has she been working on a book entitled "Suck it Wonder Woman" (slated for a July 2010 release), but she recently shot scenes for the upcoming Iron Man 2 flick as well as the new Tina Fey comedy "Date Night". In her spare time (a wonder she has any!) the clever cutie also works as a columnist at "Complex". Therefore it should be no surprise that the mag chose Munn to cover their spring inspired April/May issue. In the feature, Olivia discusses the type of man she does and doesn't like, what she thinks of her stans and the craziest fan encounter ever. And oh yeah, did I mention that Munn gets her Snow White on with a bevy of woodland creatures for this shoot? Methinks the creative directors of Complex might have just been looking for an excuse to say "Ohmygawd! Did you see the beaver between Olivia's legs?" But I digress. Here are a few interresting excerpts from the article. I hope you enjoy!
On her views of the internet: "I now just think of the Internet as a perverted old man with candy. You go there for the candy and sometimes come out with anal bleeding. It's just like, [wagging finger] Ohhhh, that Internet!"
On if she hangs out with her fan club, Olivia Munn Fan Group aka "OMFG": "No, because my rider clearly states I only travel in a Popemobile and eat white M&Ms. I did an OMFG meet-up at a convention once and it got a little crazy. My stylist sprained her ankle and they were trampling her; I had to turn around and be like, "Stop! I promise to meet all of you. Please don't hurt anyone." I had to walk them out of the convention center to get space."
On her craziest fan encounter: "I was doing a video diary showing how I can blind-text on my BlackBerry. I was using a PA's phone, and her name happened to be Olivia too. Fans taped it and were like, zoom in, zoom out, two seconds, stop, stop, stop, stop, frame, frame, and zooooooom. They got the return address off the screen and saw the other Olivia's contact, and she got an influx of emails."
On what kind of guy she dates: "I like tall and athletic, but not like he's at the gym all the time. Boyish but still looks like a man...I used to only date guys who were 6 feet and taller. That was my thing, height. But it's changed. Now I want a good guy who's talented at whatever he does and we laugh a lot.
On who she wouldn't date: "No emo shit. And no metrosexuals. But I'm not always dating. I go from relationship to NOTHING. And then maybe a relationship."

Anna Paquin is All Hopped up on the Easter Bunny for GQ

I don't know what the eff is going on in these pics of Anna Paquin for April's GQ, but I like it. The True Blood temptress takes a break from seducing vampires in order to love up on another fabled creature-the Easter Bunny. Hey, even ficticious furries need love too, right? I mean, they do love their sugar...

Chloe Sevigny Sports Spring Style in Harper's Bazaar Russia

How do I love Chloe Sevigny? Let me count the ways...A million. There. I just counted them. I love this hot bitch in a million ways. I love her cause she's stylish, I love her cause she's wierd, I love her because she doesn't even know she's wierd but most of all, I love her because she's a phenomenal actress with a floor length resume. She's just an authentic, phenomenal, hot, stylish wierdo that just so happens to be getting her fashion on in this month's Harper's Bazaar Russia. *Sigh*, if only there were more girls like Chloe (and by that I mean unafraid to be themselves) the world would be a much more colorful, fashionable place.

Slacker Chic of the Week: Charlotte Gainsbourg

Although I have heard the name Charlotte Gainsbourg before, I had never quite found the time to familiarize myself with the French femme. That is, until the lovely Carsi over at "If You Do It's Because I Saiso" nominated her for Slacker Chic of the Week. Then it was time to get down to business and discover what made the slacker so darn chic. The answer? Everything! From her style to her swagger to her cool European attitude, the singer/songwriter/mother/actress is the quintessential Parisian with an incredible story. Born into wealth and privilege, Charlotte is the daughter of British actress and singer Jane Birkin and French singer-songwriter, actor and director Serge Gainsbourg. Following in her parent’s footsteps, the young Charlotte first made her acting debut alongside Catherine Deneuve in the 1984 film Paroles et musique. She followed this up with a large repertoire of almost 40 movies including her most recent flicks “I’m Not There”, “Antichrist” and 2010’s “The Tree”.
However while her roles as an actress has gotten critical acclaim, its Charlotte’s work as a singer/songwriter that has garnered the most attention. In 1984, the same year she made her acting debut, Charlotte also made her debut as a singer, lending vocals to her father’s hit “Lemon Incest”. 2 years later she released her own album “Charlotte for Ever”. She has since put out 3 records including 2009’s “IRM” which was almost entirely written by and produced by Beck. The album has been Gaisbourg’s most successful to date, earning her critical acclaim the world over.
Between her family ties, her movies, her music and her unforgettable easy Parisian style, it’s easy to see why Carsi and femmes the world over continue to fawn over the Frenchwoman. So congrats to Charlotte! Her unmistakable style and smooth sound (not to mention the nom by Carsi!) make her our slacker chic of the week.

Look of the Day: Nicole Richie is Boho with Babies

Beauty and the babies! I am all over Nicole Richie's hippie inspired ensemble like white on tofu. Girlfriend never takes a wrong step. And if those fly Mary Janes and James Dean jean jacket are any indication, little Harlow's on the road to being a fashionable femme just like mom!
Zoe Saldana Talks the Dominican, Her Love of Dance, and Being Black in Hollywood with Nylon Magazine

Zoe Saldana is the business. That has already been established. She's a tough talking chica who, thanks to her recent turn in action flicks, can throw you on the ground and make you beg for mercy. Then again, that's something most men and women probably wouldn't mind-but I digress. Zoe is strutting her hot stuff in the April issue of Nylon magazine, discussing her Dominica roots, her love of dance, and the struggles she still faces as a non-white actor in Hollywood. And of course, in true Saldana style, my girl drops the F-bombs like they're going out of style. What is it about a beautiful, smart, and sessy girl with the mouth of a sailor that gives me the warm and fuzzies? Anyway, here are a few excerpts from Zoe's interview, as well as her super stylish shoot for the mag. Enjoy!! Er, I'm sorry. In the words of Zoe, fucking enjoy!
On moving from New York City to the Dominican Republic at age 9:
“We went from this urban life to running around barefoot in the countryside and being taught how to gut fish. We were learning how to climb coconut trees – let me tell you, they are fucking dangerous!... I would do my homework in guava and mango trees.”
On learning dance as a child:
“That was the beginning of a beautiful fucking romance. That was my Xanax, let me tell you… it put all my demons in order.”
On Hollywood casting:
“When they say ‘We want to go white,’ they have a very smooth way of saying it, and the recent one is the word traditional. [I’ve heard] ‘Oh, you know, you’re just not what we were looking for, your skin is a little darker.’ Compared to what?! My skin is just my skin. It’s dark if you compare it to someone who’s lighter.”
On meeting James Cameron:
“I’m thinking he probably imagined some Amazonian girl [for Neytiri] – I had really long hair at the time – wearing really little shit with like, a bow and arrow. I had no idea she was blue and nine feet tall. But for some reason, he was like, ‘You look so much like her!’”

Mila Kunis is a Cute Cowgirl for April's GQ

Between the series premiere of "Justified", my love of Tom Waits, and a recent affinity for spagetti westerns, I am all over the cowgirl look like herpes on a Hilton. Although I used to hate (abhor, loathe) the scene and everything that comes with it, I've suddenly found myself obsessing over boots, six shooters, and ten gallon hats. Therefore it should be no surprise that when I peeped these pics of Mila Kunis getting all southernized for GQ, the outlaw inside of me yelled "Woooo doggie!" The actress, which was three blockbusters slated for 2010 release, looks incredible in her "Love and a .45" look, sporting a soft yet intimidating style. Besides the fact that Mila looks mahvelous, how bad are we digging the spring/summer inspired shoot? What I wouldn't give to be frolicking in my backyard in nothing but a slip and boots hanging fresh laundry out to dry! Instead it's 40 damn degrees and rainy as hell. Oh the perils of living in the land called New York!

There is an Acid Washed Denim Situation Developing...

Jessica Alba was spotted strolling the streets of her hood yesterday wearing what would typically be considered the fashion faux paux of the century: acid washed denim cutoffs. Why, I don't think I have seen such a brilliant execution of denim debacles since this stud stepped on the scene:
In all seriousness though, I think I might need to rush to my local emergency room to get my head checked, because I actually think this look is...cute. There's something kind of South Beach meets Shady Acres retirement community that gives this surfer girl casual look a hint of charm. Then again, maybe it's my nostalgia for all those "Saved By the Bell" episodes I used to watch as a kid. I mean, I DID grow up during a time when this was the look:
I don't know. I'm relying on you guys to render the verdict on this one. When it comes to acid washed, is the denim a Do or a Don't? And more importantly, would you wear this trend?
